Heads up if you’re planning around Eidul Azha – Pakistan’s looking at a 4-day break, likely starting 27 May. Sindh and KP have already put out the notifications, so govt offices, banks and most public departments will stay shut from 27 to 30 May if the moon sighting matches up.
The final call depends on the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, but current forecasts point to Eid on the 27th. Private offices usually follow the govt schedule, though some only give 2 or 3 days off.
One thing to keep in mind: it’s going to be hot. PMD’s saying temps could touch 45-50°C in Punjab and Sindh over the holidays. They’re asking people to skip going out in the afternoon and drink plenty of water.
Karachi’s water situation is already shaky, and it’ll get worse with the holiday rush. K-Electric says they’ll try to cut load shedding during Qurbani days, but don’t expect it to be smooth – the grid’s under pressure.
