Latest News of Pakistan :
It’s not the kind of headline anyone in Pakistan wanted to see, but here we are. According to the freshly released Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2026 by the Institute for Economics and Peace, Pakistan has taken the unfortunate top position as the country most impacted by terrorism this year. For the first time ever, we’ve edged out Burkina Faso, which had been sitting at the top for the last couple of years.
The numbers are pretty sobering. In 2025 alone, Pakistan recorded 1,139 deaths from terrorist attacks – that’s a 6% rise from the previous year. There were around 1,045 attacks and more than 1,500 people injured. It’s the highest death toll we’ve seen since 2013. While the total number of incidents dipped just a little, the attacks that did happen were deadlier, and there was a massive jump in hostages taken – from about 100 to over 650.
Most of the blame is falling on groups like the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who’ve stepped up their activities, especially along the border regions and in Balochistan. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has also been quite active. A lot of analysts are saying things really got worse after the Taliban came back to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Cross-border issues, tense relations with neighbors, and the flow of militants haven’t made things any easier.
For people living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, it’s been another year of fear. Schools, markets, checkposts, and security forces keep getting hit. The government has launched military operations and crackdowns, but these networks seem to keep bouncing back. This is now the sixth year in a row that terrorism-related deaths have gone up in the country.
On the brighter side, the global picture actually improved a bit. Worldwide terrorism deaths dropped by 28% to around 5,582. Still, almost 70% of all that violence is happening in just five countries “Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger and Congo”. So the problem is very much concentrated in certain hotspots.
Pakistan’s score this time is 8.574, which puts us clearly at number one. We’ve been climbing the ranks for years, sitting at second place last time, but reaching the top spot really hits different.
Security experts and people in Islamabad know the pressure is on. There’s talk about improving intelligence, tackling poverty and radicalization, and working better with neighboring countries. Most agree that while military action is needed, real long-term peace will also need political solutions and economic development.
This ranking isn’t just some number on a report. It affects investment, tourism, daily life, and how the world sees us. As one security analyst said, “We’ve been in the top 10 for as long as this index has existed, but number one shows how serious the challenge has become.”
2025 was one of the roughest years in more than a decade. The fight is far from over, and the coming months will be crucial to see if we can turn things around.
Final Point of View:
You know that Pakistan is struggling against Terrarism since many years
and the enemies of the Pakistan want to Terrarism in our country and want to breakdown of Pakistan but our army and agencies are always active for the security of Pakistan.
